Thirty years ago today, in the early morning of April 26th 1986,, a nuclear reactor at Pripyat exploded. As the winds blew the fallout over the surrounding cities…and countries, the Soviet government stayed silent.

The Bookshop Book is a beautiful book put together by author and bookseller Jen Campbell which celebrates bookshops from all over the world. The Bookshop Book examines the history of books, talks to authors about their favourite places, and looks at over three hundred weirdly wonderful bookshops across six continents. Authors chatting in the book include Bill Bryson, Audrey Niffenegger, Ian Rankin, Jacqueline Wilson … and me!
