The Bookshop Book
I’ve been busy in October finishing my new novel, but there’s still a few days left to tell you about The Bookshop Book, a beautiful book put together by author and bookseller Jen Campbell which celebrates bookshops from all over the world and which has been the official book of the October ‘Books Are My Bag’ month, a massive promotion of bookshops in the UK.
From the oldest bookshop in the world, to the smallest you could imagine, The Bookshop Book examines the history of books, talks to authors about their favourite places, and looks at over three hundred weirdly wonderful bookshops across six continents.
Some of the amazing authors chatting in the book are Brian Aldiss, David Almond, Bill Bryson, Tracy Chevalier, Cornelia Funke, Audrey Niffenegger, Ian Rankin, Jacqueline Wilson and many more. And me!
Here is the bookshop I talk about in the book, Bédé en Bulles in Perpignan:
I’m so pleased to have been involved in a small way in this lovely project, and looking forward to visiting plenty of bookshops over the coming months.
